In May, SIMEZA published about what is now the world’s largest hopper bottom silo installation, and it happened because gravity discharge doesn’t lose efficiency at scale. It gains importance. No sweep augers to maintain. No grain residue between cycles. No mechanical failure points introduced to compensate for a design that doesn’t fully empty.
The conventional approach defaults to flat-bottom when volumes climb this high. We didn’t. Steel panels fabricated to specification, structural loads calculated for real operating conditions, a discharge geometry that performs the same on day one as it will a decade from now.
Fifty years of installations across five continents taught us what drawings alone never could. This is what that knowledge looks like in 12.000 tonnes of steel.
